Gentlemen:
f New Hampshire Yankee (NHY) has programs and procedures in place to ensure that proposed changes to plant equipment or design basis documentation are reviewed for impact on the FSAR and are reviewed in accordance with 10 CPR I
l 50.59.
Whenever the FSAR is affected. FSAR changen are prepared and submitted i
for NHY technical and managerial approval.
The NHY practice regarding submittal of 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations (e.g., Reference (b ensures that the NRC is kept apprised of changes to the plant. The 10 CFR 50.59 reports include descriptions of FSAR changes which were performed in that period. l New Han. shire Yankee will submit the ' updated
- FSAR in accordance with 10 CFR 50.71 within 24 months of issuance of a low power operating license.
l Prior to sutaittal of the ' updated' FSAR. NHY intends to subctit FSAA i amendments every six months to keep the NRC Staff further apprised of FSAR l changes made after issuance of the low power license. The first of these amendments is expected to be submitted within a few months and will include changes since Amendment 61.
