Gentlemen:
Thank you for your letter dated December 5, 1986, informing us of the steps
you have taken to correct the violation which we brought to your attention in
Inspection Reports No. 50-266/86016(DRSS) and No. 50-301/86015(DRSS) forwarded
by our letter dated November 5,1986, and which was discussed during the
enforcement conference conducted on September 17, 1986. We will examine these
matters during a future inspection.
In your letter, you indicated that a review committee had been established to
evaluate your radiation protection program, including the programmatic
weaknesses identified in our inspection report, and that you anticipated
completion of the review and issuance of a response to our concerns within
sixty days from the date of your letter. Your proposed actions to resolve our
concerns appear prudent.
We appreciate the information provided in your December 5, 1986 letter,
related to the personal contamination incident described in our inspection
report, concerning a PBNP procedure which covers storage of protective
clothing in control side lockers and the results of your surveys which
indicated no contamination was found in the employee's automobile.
