EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION INSPECTION OF THREE MILE ISLAND UNIT 1 (INSPECTION NO. 050-289/87-01)
This letter confirms the dates of January 12-16, 1987 for the NRC equipment qualification (EQ) inspection for Three Mile Island, Unit 1.
These dates were

established during a previous telephone conversations with Joseph Mancinelli l
and other members of your staff on December 16, 1987 by R. J. Paolino of this l
office. The inspection will take place at your corporate offices.
A management entrance meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on January 12, 1987 with a management exit meeting tentatively scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on January 16, 1987 at the corporate offices. A plant walkdown inspection of specific EQ equipment in Unit 1 is planned for Wednesday, January 14, 1987.
The inspection will include the following:
1.
Review of your implementation of a 10 CFR 50.49 program including preservation of the qualified status of qualified equipment.
2.
Review of your implementation of Technical Evaluation Report / Safety Evaluation Report EQ corrective action commitments.
3.
Review of EQ documentation files.
4.
Physical inspection of selected plant equipment and selected field wiring.
