SUBJECT:
EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION INSPECTION - LASALLE NUCLEAR STATION -
UNITS 1 AND 2 This letter confirms the dates of February 2-6, 1987, for the NRC Environmental Qualification (EQ) Inspection of electrical and instrumentation equipment, at the LaSalle Nuclear Station. These dates were established during a December 2,1986, telephone conversation between Mr. C. M. Allen of your staff and Mr. A. S. Gautam of my staff. The inspection will be performed by a six member inspection team with Mr. A. S. Gautam of the Region III office as lead inspector.
The following areas will be inspected:
1.
Implementation of corrective action conunitments addressed in the final LaSalle EQ Safety Evaluation Report.
2.
Compliance to EQ regulations of 10 CFR 50.49, including Program Procedures, Master Equipment List, Maintenance, Procurement, Upgrading of Replacement Equipment, Quality Assurance and Employee Training.
3.
Adequacy of equipment qualification files, including responses to relevant NRC Information Notices and Bulletins, i
4.
Installation and me %tenance of selected plant EQ equipment.
I A management entrance neeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on February 2,1987, at the plant site. A plant walkdown inspection of selected EQ equipment is scheduled for February 4,1987, and an NRC exit meeting is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on February 6, 1987. To facilitate NRC preparation for this inspection, Mr. Allen of your staff has been requested to submit the following LaSalle EQ documents no later than January 19, 1987.
