This letter refers to the routine resident safety inspection conducted by
Mr. John A. Berry and Mr. Clay C. Warren on September 1,1986 - November 15,
1986, at the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, Wading River, New York. The in-
spection consisted of observations of activities, interviews with personnel
and document reviews. The results of the inspection are described in the NRC
Region I Inspection Report enclosed with this letter and were discussed with

members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
