NOTICE OF VIOLATION Commonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-373 Docket No. 50-374 As a result of the inspection conducted on June 18-19 and 23-24,1986, and in accordance with the " General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specification 4.11.1.1.3 requires that the radioactivity concentration of liquids discharged from continuous release points shall be determined by collection and analysis of samples in accordance with Table 4.11.1-1.
Technical Specification Table 4.11.1-1 specifies that a monthly composite sample of a continuous release be analyzed for tritium.
Contrary to the above, the licensee did not analyze monthly composite samples for tritium from the cooling lake blowdown between June 18, 1985 and March 1, 1986.
This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement I).
4 The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter.
