- 3000 George Washington Way
- Richland, Washington 99352 Docket No. 50-508 G03 220 August 10, 1988 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk P1-137 Washington, D. C.
20555
Subject:
NUCLEAR PROJECT N0. 3 RESOLUTION OF KEY LICENSING ISSUES SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION TO SEISMIC HAZARD REPORT During the meeting between the NRC and the Supply System-on July 6,1988 concerning the response to Question 230.6, the NRC staff requested plots showing the computed distributions for frequency of exceedance which were displayed in terms of fractile hazard curves in the seismic hazard report.
The requested plots are attached to this letter.
Each figure shows the probability mass function (computed using the 14 expert logic trees plus the logic tree developed for the shallow crustal-sources) and the resulting cumulative distributicn function.
The 15th, 50th, and 85th fractile levels, and the mean hazard are indicated on the figure. Figures 1 through 5 show the distributions for peak accelerations in the range of 0.1 to 0.79, and Figures 6 through 9 show the distributions for 5%-damped spectral accelerations at a period of 0.15 seconds in the range of 5 to 40 cm/sec.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Doug Coleman, WNP-3 Project Licensing Manager at (509) 372-5304.
Very truly yours, f
G. C.
