SUMMARY

OF UNIT 1 OPERATING EXPERIENCE JUNE 1986 6/1 Unit 1 began this reporting period at full Reactor Power (825MWe).

6/20 At 2123, Unit 1 began reducing power to add oil to the upper reservoir of 12A Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP).

6/21 At 0337 the Breaker was opened.

The Reactor remained critical while oil was added to 12A RCP.

6/21 At 1450 Unit 1 was paralleled.

6/21 At 2000 the Unit stopped increasing power at 340 MWe due to a chemistry hold.

6/22 At 0045 the chemistry hold was removed and the Unit began increasing power.

6/22 At 0600 Unit 1 was at full Reactor Power (825 MWe).

6/30 The Unit was at full Reactor Power (825 MWe) at the end of this reporting period.

July 3,1986 REFUELING INFORMATION REQUEST 1.

Name of Facility: Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No.1 2.

Scheduled date for next Refueling Shutdown: October 25,1986 3.

Scheduled date for restart following refueling: January 4,1987 4.

Will refueling or resumption of operation thereafter require a technical specification change or other license amendment?

Resumption of operation after refueling will require changes to Technical Specifications. The changes will be such as to allow operation of the plant with a fresh reload batch and reshuffled core.

5.

Scheduled date(s) for submitting proposed licensing action and supporting information.

September 29,1986 6.

Important licensing considerations associated with the refueling.

Reload fuel will be similar to that reload fuelinserted into the previous cycle.

7.

The number of fuel assemblies (a) in the core and (b) in the spent fuel storage pool.

(a) 217 (b) 1000 Spent Fuel Pools are common to Units 1 and 2 i

8.

(a) The present licensed spent fuel pool storage capacity, and (b) the size of any increase in licensed storage capacity that has been requested or is planned, in number of fuel assemblies.

(a) 1830 (b)0 9.

The projected date of the last refueling that can be discharged to the Spent Fuel Pool assuming the present licensed capacity and maintaining space for one full core off load.
