ISSUANCE OF AflENDMENT NO. 9 TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. R PURDUE UNIVERSITY The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued Amendment No. 9 for Facility Operating License No. R-87 for the pool type research reactor at Purdue University in response to the application for renewal dated June 30, 1986, as supplemented. This amendment renews the operating license for twenty years from its date of issuance.

In accordance with our practice, we have restated the license in its entirety, incorporating all the changes and amendments made since the issuance of the original license.

Enclosed with the amended license is a copy of the Notice of Renewal that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication, the Environmental Assessment, and the Safety Evaluation Report (NUREG-1283) associated with the renewal.
