This is in response to your letter dated October 15, 1986.
In a telecon of September 16, 1986, between Mr. D. Parks, Manager - Nuclear Materials and our R. L. Jackson it was agreed that the letter should have been dated September 15, 1986.
The letter requests a thirty day delay te begin the semi-annual physical inventory of your low enriched uranium.
Our review has determined that granting this request will not adversely affect the common defense and security nor the public health and safety and is other-wise in the public interest. Accordingly, we are adding the following un-numbered license condition to Amendment SG-1 to your License No. SNM-1067, effective immediately, to read as follows:
Notwithstanding the requirements of Section 5.1 of the approved Funda-mental Nuclear Material Control (FNMC) Plan to conduct physical inven-tories at intervals not to exceed 210 days with a minimum of two (2) inventories per calendar year, the licensee shall begin his second physical inventory of this calendar year on or before October 24, 1986.
It should be noted that the provisions of our September 4, 1986 letter, granting a onetime fifteen day delay to accomplish the requirements of 10 CFR 70.51(e)(4) for the September 1986 (now October 1986) low enriched uranium physical inventory, also applies to the granting of this request.
