y-Operations Narrative Cooper Nuclear Station August 1986 The plant operated the month of August with no scheduled shutdowns, one (1) unscheduled shutdown on August 13, and no other unscheduled power changes.

On August 13, 1986, at-1318 hours, a reactor scram occurred during the performance of a procedure to replace a faulty HEA coil relay of.the Channel A Reactor Protection System (RPS). While removing the relay, the relay coil was cycled producing electrical noise which caused a trip on RPS Channel B.

As a result the plant scrammed. On August 14, procedures were implemented to bring the plant back into service. The plant was placed on-line August 15, at 0806 hours0.00933 days
0.224 hours
0.00133 weeks
3.06683e-4 months
.
