NOTICE OF VIOLATION Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company Docket No. 50-213 Haddam Neck License No. OPR-61 EA 88-175 During an NRC special inspection conducted on May 17-20 and May 26 - June 1, 1988, NRC inspectors reviewed the circumstances associated with two examples of a violation of NRC requirements identified by the licensee. The violation involved degradations of vital area barrier:. In accordance with the "General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C, (Enforcement Policy) (1988), the violation is set forth below:

10 CFR 73.2 defines building walls as pnysical carriers when openings in such walls are secured by grates, covers, or doors of sufficient strength such that the integrity of the wall is not lessened by the opening.
