E-MAILS CONCERNING IRRIDIUM-102 SOURCE SHIPMENT INCIDENT, APRIL 17 - 27,1999 This memorandun, provides information concerning eight irridium 192 sources that were temporarily lost by Federal Express during shipment from Boston, Massachusetts, to Toluca, Mexico. The sources were subsequently found within the Federal Express international system, and delivered to the receiver. Five e-mails attached to this memorandum contain information and descriptions of several follow-up actions that took place while NRC was monitoring the progress on locating the radioactive sources within the Federal Express system. The purpose of this Memorandum to File is to document the e-mails in NRC's public document room and reference the e-mail information in the Nuclear Materials Events Database (NMED).
