Dear Mr. Martin:
One of the items which Bill Jones and I discus:ed with you and your staff in the June 9, 1986 meeting involved staffing in the Nuclear Production Division and our use of vendor services to suppleraent the regular 0 PPD employees.
I committed to provide you with information regarding this vendor support; this is included in Attachment 1.
Our use of vendor support is intended to cover areas of temporary need, areas where special expertise is required, and other areas where this is the most economical approach to perform the necessary work.
In those areas where perceived temporary need has instead resulted in a long-term requirement, we intend to replace the vendors with permanent OPPD personnel.
It was important to meet with you and your staff to communicate on the important issues involving the Fort Calhoun Station.
I will plan to arrange a similar meeting in 1967 to update you on the accomplishments we are makirig in continuing the safe and efficient operation of the station.
