RELIEF FROM INSERVICE HYDR 0 STATIC TEST REQUIREMENTS - McGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 2 By letter dated June 27, 1986, you requested relief from hydrostatic testing requirements of ASME Code Section XI for the reverse purge lines on all four feedwater lines to the McGuire Unit 2 steam generators, and for four welds (2RN2F2713, 2RN2F2714, 2RN132-4, and 2RN132-5) on-the Unit 2 Nuclear Service Water (RN) System.

We have reviewed your request and agree that the Code requirements, in this case, are impractical and that your alternative examinations will provide necessary added assurance of the respective system's structural reliability.

Our Safety Evaluation Report is enclosed.

Accordingly, relief from the hydrostatic test requirements is granted for McGuire Unit 2 as requested, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(i,.
