Ouring the newtlog with GPU Nuclear (vrporation (GPUN/11Cet'.see) and yCur consultants on May ?$, 198P, the staff had indicated reservation with regards to the Power Spectral Density (PSDI function developed by UR$/819lrt (a licensee consultent).

The con.puted PSD function started having unacceptable (ICT) escurs:ons below the target PSD after 1.6 H2.

Fiequent er.Cursiens of felt that such escursions (or dipt, beluw the target P50)y, however, the staff larger magnitudes were indicated after 3 Hz.

Intuitiv11 could be acceptable if the responses at higher elevatiens using the computed P50 (corresponding in Oyster Creek input erotion) are shown to be higher thar those using the target PSC.

The staff's Consultant, Brookhaven National 1.aboratory, has developed a ecmputer CcJe whereby the structural responses can be obtained by using the input rnfinn X D functions.

As this is a statw-of-the-ort developtent, the st3ff decided to use the aSailable Code for cccpar ing responses.
