GRAND GULF UNIT 1, REACTOR INTERNALS VIBRATION MEASUREMENTS AND INSPECTION PROGRAM By letter dated February 22, 1986, Mississippi Power & Light Company (the licensee) submitted two reports entitled, " Grand Gulf 1 Reactor Internals Vibration Measurements Summary Report" and " Grand Gulf 1 Reactor Internals Vibration Inspection Program". These reports were submitted in accordance with the requirements in Operating License Condition 2.C.(9). Based on the satisfactory results of the vibration measurements and the inspection program, j

the licensee concluded that the Grand Gulf Unit I reactor internals are adequately designed for flow-induced vibration effects.

The NRC staff has reviewed the February 22, 1986 submittal. The staff's safety evaluation is enclosed. The staff concurs with the licensee's conclusion and considers Operating License Condition 2.C.(9) to be acceptably fulfilled.
