The Commission was briefed by the licensee and the staff on the status of San Onofre Unit 1 for return to power following the water hammer' event of November 21, 1985, which occurred in the feedwater system.

, The Commission discussed whether a need existed for voting on the San Onofre-1 restart.
Subsequent to the meeting, the Commission has concluded that it need not vote on the restart of San Onofre-1.
The EDO, however, is to inform the Commission when he is ready to permit San Onofre-1 to return to power.
