APPLICATION FOR WITHHOLDING INFORMATION FROM PUBLIC DISCLOSURE By letter dated April 1, 1986, you submitted, among other things, the following Babcock and Wilcox documents:

Non-proprietary versions of the documents were also submitted by letter dated April 1, 1986.
B&W maintains that these documents contain information of the type customarily held in confidence by them and that such information is not available in open literature and is not known by potential competitors of B&W. B&W believes that disclosure of this information would reduce the expenditure of their competitors and, thus, wauld harm their competitive position.
We have reviewed the application and related material based on the requirements and criteria of 10 CFR 2.790 and have determined that the above listed documents contain proprietary commercial information, kbDoh P

se Mr. Gene Campbell We have determined that the above listed B&W documents, marked as proprietary, should be withheld from public disclosure pursuant"to 10 CFR 2.790(b)(5) and Section 103(b) of the Atonic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
We, therefore, approve the request for withholding pursuant to Section 2.790 of 10 CFR Part 2 and are withholding from public inspection the above mentioned documents.
Withholding from public inspection shall not affect the right, if any, of persons properly and directly concerned to inspect the documents.
If the need l
arises, we may send copies of this information to our consultants working in this area. We will, of course, assure that the consultants have signed the appropriate agreements for handling proprietary data.
If the basis for withholding this information from public inspection should change in the future such that the information could then be made available i
for public inspection, you or B&W should promptly notify the NRC.
