RESPONSE TO GENERIC LETTER 83-28. ITEMS 3.1.3 and 3.2.3 - WASHINGTON NUCLEAR POWER 1 (WNP-1)

By letter dated March 30, 1984, Washington Public Supply System (WPPSS) provided a gereral response to Generic Letter 83-28 (Required Actions Based on Generic Implications of Salem ATWS Events).

We have evaluated the WPPSS response to item 3.1.3 (Post-Maintenance Testing of Reactor Trip System) and Item 3.2.3 (Post-Maintenance Testing of all other Safety-Related Components). The responses are acceptable. Our Safety Evaluation (SE) is enclosed.

In view of the current status of WNP-1, we recommend that the enclosed SE be retained and tracked as a future commitment for the point at which the project is restarted. At that time, please advise this office if there are any changes in your submittal for Items 3.1.3 and 3.2.3.
