Dear Mr. Campbell:
We have reviewed your submittal of April 30, 1986, concerning propcsed modifications to the Hydrogen Control System for Arkansas Nuclear Oce, Unit 1.
In order to continue our review we find that we need additional information as detailed in the enclosed Request For Additional Information.
To maintain our schedule of completing this review prior to installation during your next refueling outage, we will need a response within 30 days from the date of this letter.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

What are you planning to do with the existing hydrogen purge / pressurization system after the recombiners are installed?

Describe how you are planning to protect the power cables to the recombiners from accidental damage by fire which may occur during emergency plant operating conditions.

Are there any provisions (flame arresters) in the recombiners to prevent them from becoming ignition sources in the event the concentration of hydg/0)? ogen in the containment accidentally exceeds the flammability limit
