Gentlemen:

This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. T. Ploski of

this cffice on October 17-21, 1988, of activities at the Braidwood Nuclear

Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC Operating Licenses

No. NPF-72 and No. NPF-77, and to the discussion of our findings with

Messrs. K. Kofron and D. O'Brien and others of your staff at the conclusion of

the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the in pection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this

inspection.

At the October 21, 1988 exit interview, yeer sta'f comitted that

seven current members of the orsite emergency organization would complete all

position-specific * raining requirernents by November 1,1988, while two vher

individuals away on temporary assignment would complete their required

training by Deces.ber i,1988. If your urderstanding of these commitment,

does not agree with our understanding, please contact my staff immedin ely.
