We have reviewe6..
..ugust 31, 1987 response to our July 21, 1987 request for additional infornattun concerning the BFN Accelerated Requalification Program.
The Of fice of Special Projects Staff has concluded that TVA has adequately l
addressed the first six concerns cutlined in our request fer additional information.
The seventh concern in our request for additional information discussed our plans to ha"e cognizant NRC personnel perform reviews of the BFN site procedures implementing the requalification prooram. As oiscussed in a letter to you from NRC's Kenneth P. Barr, dated April 13, 1988, a special inspection was conducted at BFN on March 22-24, 1988; among other things, this inspection evaluated TVA's status with respe:t to training comitment implementation at BFN. We consider the actions discussed in the seventh concern of our request i
for additional information complete. The NRC evaluators concluded that you had met the training comitments stated in your responses to our Confirmation of Action Letter (CAL) dated January 2, 1986, and all that remains for completion of CAL actions is administration of NRC requalification examination; to all of your Group 4 operators. We currently intend to administer recualification examinations to Group 4 operators in February 1989, in sumary, the outstanding issues delineated in our July 21, 1987 request for additional information are closed.
