On August 24, 1988, pursuant to 10CFR2.201, CP&L acknowledged the violations specifled in the NRC July 25, 1988 Notice of Violation and Proposed Irrposition of Civil Penalty (EA 88-131).
CP&L remitted the base portion of the penalty ($50,000) and took exception to the v25,000 escalatior.. On October 17, 1988, the NRC transmitted an order imposing the escalated portion ($25,000) of the civil penalty.
Enclosed is a $25,000 check for payment of the escalated portion imposed by the recent order, Please refer any questions regarding this submittal to Mr. Stephen D.
