NOTICE OF VIOLATION Commonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-295 As a result of the inspecticn conducted on February 4 through March 17, 1987, and in accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C - General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions (1985), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specification 3.15.2.C requires that after one of the diesel generators (DG) for a unit is made or found to be inoperable, the oper:bility of the remaining diesels shall be demonstrated immediately and daily thereafter.
Contrary to the above, on March 15, 1987, the IB DG became inoperable and the operability of the remaining two DG's was not imediately demonstrated.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement 1)(295/87003-03(DRP)).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, you are required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice a written statement or explanation in reply, including for each violation:
(1)correctiveaction taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective action to be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown.
