Gentlemen:
l By letter dated June 14, 1985, n provided our resnonse to Generic Letter 85-02.
In a recent review of our response it was deter.7.ined that we failed to address NRC recomendations related to visual inspeu ions; 1) following l
secondary side modifications or repairs, and, 2) following eddy current testing where indications are found in the free span portion of peripheral j

i The appropriate procedures governing steam generator closure are being revised to include the recommended inspections.
Specifically, we commit to perform j
visual inspections using an appropriate optical device following:
l 1.
Any secondary side modifications, or repairs, to steam generator j
internal s,
2.
Any eddy current inspection where an indication is found in the free span portion of peripheral tubes, unless it has been established that the indication did not result from damage by a loose part or foreign object.
