Dear Sir,
In accorance with the requirements of Title 10, Chapter 10, Code of Federal Regulbtions, Part 21, IMO Delaval Inc.
hereby notifies the Commission of a potential defect in a component of a DSR and DSRV Standby Diesel Generator.
There exists a potential problem in the engine control panel shutdown circuitry.
IMO Delaval has supplied USR and DSRV engines with this potential defect to the iollowing sites:

MODEL Georgia Power Vogtle 76021/24 DSRV-16-4 SHUD Rancho Seco 01015/16 DSR-48 As engine speed decreasen during an engine stop sequence, the low pressure lube oil sensors trip when the lube oil system pressure decreases to 30 pai.
This condition in transmitted to the 2 out of 3 logic board located in the engine control panel which in turn operates / latches the emergency stop relay.
After the emergency stop relay is latched, the diesel engine cannot be started until the emergency stop relay is manually reset.
While this potential problem is reported at Georgia Power Vogtic Plant, it is our understanding that Georgia Power has already implemented corrective action.
1HO Delaval will be working with SHUD to identify and implement control circuitry modifications.
Since action is required by others, however, we cannot estimate when corrective action will be completed.
