NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-1113/86-24 Thank you for your response of March 11, 1987, to our Notice of Violation issued on December 1,1986, concerning activities conducted at your Wilmington facility. In that letter you requested an extension until April 13, 1987, to provida the required response to the Notice of Violation. We have evaluated your request and the additional information provided during a telephone conversation on March 24, 1987, between Mr. C. M. Vaughan of your staff and Mr. W. E. Cline of this office. We have determined that an extension is warranted and is hereby granted. Therefore, pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, you are hereby required to submit to this office by April 13, 1987, a written statement or explanation in reply including (1) the corrective steps which have been taken to achieve compliance with the requirements listed in the Notice of Violation and the results achieved, (2) the corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations, and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.

Security or safeguards information should be submitted as an enclosure to facilitate withholding it from public disclosure as required by 10 CFR 2.790(d) or 10 CFR 73.21.

The responses directed by this letter and its enclosure are not subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
