Gentlemen:
By letter dated May 6, 1985, Georgia Power Company proposed that the modifications designed to reduce level indication errors caused by high drywell temperature be completed on Unit 2 of Plant Hatch during the outage scheduled for the fall of 1986 (early September).
This proposed schedule was based upon the assumption that the modifications, or suitable alternative changes, identified in the May 6,1985, letter would be approved early this year.
Early approval was needed to allow l
sufficient time for the necessary engineering, planning, and scheduling activities to proceed in an orderly manner.
Since approval of the l
proposed :nodifications has not yet been received, we request that the proposed schedule date for installing the Hatch Unit 2 modifications be extended to the refueling outage tentatively scheduled for the fall of 1987.
The proposed schedule for installing the modifications on Hatch Unit 1 during the spring 1987 refueling outage is not affected by this request.
