APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Boston Edison Company Docket No.
50-293 Pilgrim Nuclear nower Station License No. ORP-35 As a result of the inspection conducted on June 23 - August 3,1987 and subse-quont followup on August 29 - September 26,1988, and in accordance with NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR 2,
Appendix C), the following violation was identified:
10 CFR 20.40S(b) requires in part that when an individual terminstes emplojment with a licensee or completes the work assignment in the licen-see's facility, the licensee shall furnish to the NRC a report of the individual's exposure to radiation or radioactive material incurred during the period of employment in the licensee's facility. Such report shall be furnished within 30 days af ter the exposure of the individual has been determined or 90 days af ter the date of term nation of employment, which-i ever is earlier. 10 CFR 20.409(b) and 10 CFR 19.13(d) state that when the licensee is required pursuant to Pcrt 20.408 to report M the Commission any exposure of an individual, the licensee shall also pt Jvide the indi-vidual a report on his exposure data at a time no later than the trans-mittal to the Commission.
Contrary to the above, from the period of early 1986 untti August, 1937 the licensee failed to issue termination exposure history reports to over 400 individuals as required by 10 CFR Parts 19 and 20.
This is a Severity Level IV Violation (Supplement IV).
Corrective actions taken by the licensee and reviewed by the inspector appear adequate.
Therefore, no formal response is required to this Notice o.~
Violation.
