Dear Ms. Garde:
We appreciate your coments of August 15, 1985, on the Comanche Peak Response Team (CPRT) Program Plan that was sent to Mr. Eisenhut and myself. As you are i
aware, many of your concerns with this Program Plan have already been encompassed by the Staff's initial coments on the programatic aspects of the Program Plan sent to the Applicants on August 9,1985. On September 30, 1985, we also issued more detailed staff coments on the specific elements of the Program Plan which incidently already addresses a number of your concerns.
It is the Staff's intent to complete our review of the Program Plan following the Applicants' response to all our concerns. We will also monitor and evaluate its implementation as part of the Staff's determination of whether there is a reasonable assurance that the facility as designed and constructed can be operated without undue risk to the public health and safety.
The staff intends to conduct meetings with the Applicant on a number of these issues in the near future. At such meetings, which will be publicly announced, you will be afforded an opportunity to present your views.
