Additional comments are as follows:

1.

Rancho Seco has been shut down since December 26, 1985.

2.

Maximum waste water flow rate was 10,000 gpm for 9 hours1.041667e-4 days
0.0025 hours
1.488095e-5 weeks
3.4245e-6 months
on July 9.

3.

Waste water discharges amounted to 326.7 M gallons.

4 Maximum TDS in waste water discharge was 360 ppm, based on conductivity.

That level was experienced during a retention basin release on July 16.

5.

Flow through the sewage plant average 19,451 gpd for the month of July.

6.

The new sewage plant was put into operation November 30, 1985, and is still in a testing mode.

All sewage flow is processed through the new plant.

7.

Visual inspections of the site boundary have not indicated any floating or suspended matter, discoloration, or bottom deposits.

Aquatic life appears to be normal.

8.

The plant effluent pH was 8.6 on July 1.

The required sample of Folsom South Canal supply water was taken or that day, showing conformance with the limitation that effluent pH may not exceed supply water pH.

W H CROOKS August'5, 1986 9.

High Total Coliform in the sewage plant effluent was attributed to no flow through the collection sump at time of sampling.

A sample taken two days later, after flow was, established through the collection sump, indicated Total Coliform of less than 2 MPN/100 ml.

~There was no indication of malfunction of the sewage plant, only

~

that flow was interrupted.

10. A high Total Chlorine residual at the site boundary was attributed to maintenance activities on the hypochlorite tank at the nuclear service spray pond.

To prevent further chlorine from going offsite, the plant effluent was diverted to a retention basin.

Oilution water was started to provide flushing action in Clay Creek.

Subsequent visual inspections have not indicated any adverse effects on aquatic life.
