l All refueling related activities have been completed and the Unit is ready for RCS heatup and startup testing. The estimated return to service date is June 25, 1986.

1 of 2 MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES - MAY, 1986 HIGHLIGHTS:

The reporting period began with Reactor Coolant System (RCS) in Mode 6 at 86*F with the core fully unloaded.

Reloading the core began on 5-6-86 and was completed on 5-9-86.

Forty nine 10 year In Service Inspection hydrostatic tests were completed during this outage.

The reporting period ended with the reactor coolant system in Mode 5 and the RCS temperature at 172*F.

SUMMARY

5-02-86 At 1635 reflooding of the reactor cavity to refueling level began.

At 1646 blackout testing of Train "B" began.

The blackout testing was completed about 1500 on 5-5-86.

5-6-86 At 0635 the " Unusual Event" which was declared at 0802 hours0.00928 days <br />0.223 hours <br />0.00133 weeks <br />3.05161e-4 months <br /> on 4-8-86 and was the result of removing 2AB Emergency Diesel Generator from service coincident with the 2CD Emergency Diesel Generator was terminated when 2AB Emergency Diesel Generator was declared operable.

At 1209 fuel movement began.

5-7-86 At 2109 core alterations were started.

5-9-86 At 0046 the core load was completed.

At 1507 the upper internals were set.

5-10-86 At 2155 the head was set.

5-11-86 At 0435 the RCS was drained to 8" above half loop.

At 1025 the breaker to the Engineered Safeguards Features Ventilation Fan tripped due to a smoldering fire in the cable tray.

5-14-86 At 0535 Mode 5 was entered.

At 0546 a draindown of the RCS to half loop was begun.

Half loop was reached at 0646.

5-20-86 At 2305 RCS pressure was raised to about 40 psig to begin pressurizer heatup.

5-23-86 At 1515, a bubble was drawn in the pressurizer.

The pressurizer heatup was stopped at 1615 with 300'F and 50 psig in the pressurizer.

5-24-86 At 1146 a pressurizer heatup began to raise RCS pressure to 350 psig.

Pressurizer pressure reached 350 psig at 1638.

5-27-86 At 0829 cooldown and depressurization of pressurizer was started.

At 1626 Train "A" blackout testing was commenced.

5-29-86 At 1645 a cooldown of the reactor coolant system was commenced to 145'F for Inservice Inspecion Testing.

5-29-86 At 1830 2 CD Emergency Diesel Generator was de-clared operable.

Replaced injector and inlet line.

Engine tested satisfactorily.

M-2 The inboard pump bearing on the Unit 2 AB Diesel was leaking. The.

mechanical seal was replaced and tested satisfactorily.

M-3 2-CMO-429, Component Cooling Water return from Residual. Heat Ex-changers was tripping thermal overloads in its breaker. The motor was replaced and the valve tested satisfactorily.

M-4 2-NRV-212, Power Operated Steam Dump Valve for No. 21 Steam Gen-erator Stop Valve was leaking by.

Replaced cage and seat ring.

Cut new seating surface on the plug.

Installed new gaskets and packing. The valve tested satisfactorily.

M-5 NRV-164, Pressurizer Spray Control Valve had a body-to-bonnet leak.

Installed new internals and re-assembled with new gaskets and studs.

The valve tested satisfactorily.

C&I-1 ASCO solenoid valves for containment ventilation system isolation valves WCR-906 -925 and -933 allow supply air to bleed continuously when valve is in the closed position.

The ASCO solenoid valve was rebuilt and proper valve operation was verified.

C&I-2 NLP-152 Pressurizer Level Transmitter Channel 2 has a leak from between seal on bellows.

Repaired o-rings and backup ring on transmitter.

C&I-3 The ASCO solenoid valve for WCR-907 is continuously venting and blowing air with valve in the closed position.

Rebuilt ASCO solenoid valve and verified proper valve operation.

C&I-4 The electronic speed tachometer on the CD diesel generator cannot be adjusted to 514 RPM.

Found electronic tachometer circuitry to be defective. Replaced electronic tachometer, calibrated electronic tachometer per procedure, returned to service and verified proper operation.
