Thompson Chairman, Board of Commissioners County of Chester High 6 Market Streets West Chester, PA 19380 In the Matter of Philadelphia Electric Company (Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2)

Docket Nos. 50-352 and 50-353-- g

Dear Mr. Thompson:

As you know, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board remanded the initial decision delivered in this proceeding on May 2, 1985. The remanded issue is whether there is assurance of sufficient drivers for school buses if it were necessary to evacuate school children in the Owen J. Roberts and Spring-Ford School Districts in the event of an accident at the Limerick Generating Station.

Representatives of our Company have met with Mr. Timothy R. S. Campbell, Director, Department of Emergency Services, County of Chester, to discuss the resolution of this issue as it relates to the Owen J. Roberts School District. We have met as well with responsible officials in Montgomery County and in the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.

Because of Limerick Ecology Action's refusal to agree to a stipulation agreed to by the other parties to resolve the remanded issue, the Licensing Board has scheduled a hearing to commence on August 18, 1986, and, if necessary, on August 22, 1986. Copies of the Board's orders are enclosed for your information.

We request that Mr. Campbell be made available to testify in the hearing on August 18, 1986 as to the position of the Department of Emergency Services, 4 I

Chester County in resolving this issue.

I Sincere y, ,
