We have completed our review for assessing the completeness and adequacy of your responses to the subject items as noted above. Our review indicates

that your responses are incomplete or inadequate in some cases.

The enclosure to this letter specifies those items for which your response was found to be either incomplete or inadequate. For each such item, a brief description of the deficiency is provided as a guide for corrective action.

i It is noted that efforts by Owners Groups, INP0 and NSSS vendors have been or are being made to produce generic responses that may be useful in meeting the requirements of Generic Letter 83-28, Items 2.1, 2.2, 4.4, 4.5.2 and 4.5.3.

You may wish to contact the appropriate Owners Group or INP0 regarding the applicability of such generic responses for NA-1&2.

We request that your response to the items specified in the enclosure be submitted for our continuing review within 60 days of your receipt of this letter.

NORTH ANNA 1&2 Item 2.1(part2)-Incomplete Licensee needs to submit detailed information describing his vendor interface program for reactor trip system components.

Infomation supplied should state i

how the program assures that vendor technical infomation is kept complete, current and controlled throughout the life of the plant and should also indicate how the program will be implemented at NORTH ANNA 162.

Item 2.2.1 - Incomplete Responded to items 2.2.1.1 to 2.2.1.5 but need to submit a response to item 2.2.1.6.

Item 2.2.2 - Incomplete Licensee needs to submit detailed infonnation describing his vendor interface program for all safety-related components. Information supplied should state how the program assures that vendor technical information is kept complete, current and controlled throughout the life of the plant and should also indicate how the program will be implemented at NORTH ANNA 1&2.

Item 4.5.2 - Incomplete Licensee needs to state if his plant is currently designed to pemit on-line testing of the RTS. If not either design modifications that will pemit such testing shall be described along with an implementation schedule or justification for not providing on-line testing capability shall be provided.

i Item 4.5.3 - Incomplete Licensee needs to submit a description of the ' imp'lementat' ion o'f tihose prov'is' ions of WCAp-10271 and Supplement I which have been approved in the NRC's SER issued in March, 1985. Also, the licensee needs to describe the additional provisions and implementation that may be developed by the WOG for the actuation logic and activated devices.
