Notice of Intent to Relocate the Records for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant.
Dear Ms. Northern:
Again, I apologize for our oversight in not expressing our interest in obtaining the LPDR records for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant.
Be assured that we are interested and would consider the records to be an asset in helping us to provide more comprehensive library service to our patrons in Southeastern N.C.
The following responses are submitted relative to the notice as published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, June 4, 1986:
1.
The administration and library support staff are very interested in receiving, housing and main-taining the LPDR records for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant.
2.
Until September 1987 Brunswick Technical College will be operating a split campus-one branch in Southport and the other in Supply, NC.
The LPDR records will be moved to the Southport branch and then moved to our permanent campus in September 1987.
Adequate shelf space, workspace, copying and micro-graphics equipment will be made available.

The library and support staff are " people oriented" and most willing to do whatever is necessary in assisting the public in locating records included in the LPDR collection.
4.
Both branch libraries have excellent public accessibility including parking.
Hours of operation for the Southport branch are 8 am-9:30 pm Monday-Thursday and 8-5 pm on Friday.
When the library is moved to our main campus in September, 1987, hours of operation will be frcm 8 am-10 pm Monday-Thursday, 8 am-5 pm Friday and 8 am-3 pm on Saturdays.
5.
The Southport branch is located approximately five (5) miles from the Brunswick plant and the permanent campus is located approximately eighteen (18) miles from the plant.
6.
Plans are now being finalized for a new library on the permanent campus in Supply.
The library will be ready for occupancy in February 1988.
In addition to being located 18 miles from the plant, the new, fivel.(69)'jpl library.w be 25 miles from Wilmington, HC.

a We at Brunswick Technical College believe that we are the agency that should house the collection and will manage them in such a way as to provide maximum availability to the user group.
Our location and philosophy of community service will enable us to provide this added service to NRC and our clientele.
We look forward to your response.
