%J NOV 0 61984 Docket No. 50-456 Docket No. 50-4E7 Commonwealth Edison Company ATTN: Mr. Cordell Reed Vice President Post Office Box 767 Chicago, IL 60690 Gentlemen:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has completed its SALP Assessment relating to the performance of your reactor facility and will present its findings at a meeting on November 26,1984, at 1:00 p.m. at your Mazon Emergency Offsite Facility. Arrangements for this meeting were previously made between T. Maiman of your staff and R. F. Warnick of Region III on October 31, 1984.

We encourage Commonwealth Edison Company to have appropriate corporate and plant management representation at the meeting to ensure a mutual understanding of the issues and findings being presented by NRC.

While this meeting is considered a presentation and discussion forum between Commonwealth Edison and the NRC, the meeting.will be opened to any other interested parties as observers. Those persons outside the licensee and NRC staffs should inform the Regional Office of their intent to participate so possible space limitations can be accommodated.
