This refers to the inspection conducted by Pessrs. D. R. Hunter and R. J. Evans
of this office during the period August 8 tnrough September 2,1988, of
activities authorized by NRC Construction Permit CPPR-129 for the South Texas
l
Project, Unit 2, and to the discussion of our findings with J. T. Westermeir
L. d other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
,
Areas examined during the inspection included Unit 2 emergency operating
procedures, maintenance procedures and Technical Specifications review. Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the
NRC inspectors. The inspection findings are documented in the enclosed
inspection report.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.
Two unresolved items are identified in paragraphs 3.2.2, 3.3.1, and 5.5 of the
enclosed inspection report.
