Dear Sirs:

In order for us to meet the requirements of our emergency plan, we must again exercise our emergency response procedures. We have scheduled an exercise for the afternoon of August 7, 1986.

The scenario planned does not call for response by any agency from off-site. The exercise involves the simulation of a suspected on-site radiation leak, escalating from an unusual event to an alert. The purpose of this letter is to notify you that on August 7, the acting emergency director will notify your organization of the unusual event, the alert, and the close-out of both.

Sincerely, p 2&
