This is in answer to the information supplied in your letter of February (Texas 18, i
1987, concerning possession of a quantity of Pu-239 by a Texas licensee State Technical Institute) in excess of formula quantities of special nuclear material.
We understand the Texas licensee has no intention of obtaining an NRC license, will dispose of the excess quantity of Pu-239 under contract with Chem Nuclear in South Carolina, and will send NRC, Region IV a copy of a report of the disposition of this material as soon as the disposition is final. We also i
understand the Texas license will be amended accordingly by the Bureau's licensing staff.
