A. Bert Davis Region III Document Control Manager:
This is to confirm a verbal report made to the Region III Office at 0937 hours0.0108 days <br />0.26 hours <br />0.00155 weeks <br />3.565285e-4 months <br /> on March 18, 1987.
At that time, the Region III office was informed that a portion of Technical Specification 3.7.9.lb, Fire Suppression System had been made inoperable in order to perform corrective maintenance.
A leak had developed on the east leg of the outside Fire Protection Ring Header, suspected to be a broken pipe.
Backup fire suppression is available from nearby fire hydrants and the dedicated Plant fire truck.
No safety related areas were isolated as a result of sectionalizing.
As required by Technical Specification 3.7.9.1, Action b.2.(c),
a follow-up report will be submitted within 14 days.
