1 This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been prepared to N record that'a meeting help November 7, 1984 between ..

Carl F. Fonash,-Bucks County Board of Commissioners and John L. Patten. Director, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). The purpose of the meeting was to' discuss the role of Bucks County and its Emergency Management Agency in support of emergency response operations coordinated and directed ,

by PEMA. This MOU further serics to confirm the following mutually agreed support to be' rendered by Bucks. County,,as well as the conditions ~and stipulations under which said support would be provided.

1. Bucks County,-in coordination with its townships, boroughs, school districts and other appropriate entities or organiza- .

tions, will receive approximately 24,400 evacuees from Montgomery County in the event of a natural or man-made disaster, and will participate, in coordination with PEMA and Montgomery County, in planning for the. reception and me.ss care facilities and support required by these evacuees, provided that:

a. It is demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Bucks County Board of Commissioners that the plans developed by PEHA and Montgomery County for the evacuation of Montgomery County in the event of a disaster are

-feasible, capable of being implemented and will not adversely impact upon the safety of persons residing or working within Bucks County.

b. In recognition of Bucks County being astride major .

roads that could be used in the event of an exodus from e e Philadelphia, provisions are made to establish suffi-

In signing this MOU Bucks County affirms its desire and commitment.to assist neighboring counties and th& Commonwealth'ih response to a naturni or man-made disaster and PEMA acknowledges' that provisions should exist to ensure that the sa.fety of the Bucks County populace is not unnecessarily endangered.

The effective date of this Memorandum of Understanding is the date it is signed by the Chairman of the Bucks County Board of Cocunissioners. It will remain in fu11' force and effect until or unless terminated in writing by either party by providing ,

thirty days advanen notice to the other affected party.
