This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. D. Florek of'this
office on March 3-14, 1986, at the Hope Creek Generating Station, Hancocks
Bridge, New Jersey, of activities authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-120 and
tc the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Florek with yourself and other
members pf your staff at tne conclusion of the inspection, and to a subsequent
telephone discussion between Mr. Florek and A. Giardino on March 17, 1986.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector,

o aught to your attention in the enclosure to our letter dated January 31, 1986.
We have no further questions regarding your action at this time.
However, we
note that certain required actions for this issue are planned to be completed
prior to the next containment integrated leak rate test, presently scheduled
for 1989. These actions will be tracked to completion by the NRC under unre-
solved Item 50-354/86-18-01.
