A routine safety inspection was conducted by Mr. Richard K. Struckmeyer of this
office on July 21-25, 1986, of activities related to the Radiological
Environmental Monitoring Program at the James A. Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power
Plant. Areas that were reviewed included organization, procedures, training
and qualification, sample collection, control of laboratory activities, quality
control, meteorological monitoring, audits, and reports.
This inspection indicated that one activity was in apparent violation of NRC
requirements. Details are provided in enclosure Appendix A.
No response to
this finding is required because corrective actions to prevent recurrence were
taken prior to the conclusion of the inspection.
