. REPORT PERIOD: JULY 1997 - DECEMBER 1997 THREE MILE ISLAND ATTACHMENT - Page 1 TESTING RATE 1.
The annualized random 19 sting rate for TMI Licensee Employees is 57.55%.

The annualized random testing rate for Oyster Creek and Three M;le Island Contractor Personnel is 111.9%.
NOT E: The Contractor random pools for Oyster Creek and Three Mile Island are combined into one 4
pool.
SMMMARY OF MANAGEMENT ACTIONS 1.
One (1) GPU System employee tested positive for alcohol as a result of for-cause testino The individual's unescorteri access was revoked; and, was referred to the Employee Assistance Program counselor and suspended without pay for fourteen (14) days. GPU Nuclear management then cleared the employee for retum to work and reinstated unescorted access based upon recommendations received from the Employee Assistance Program counselor. One (1) GPU System employee tested positive for drugs twice; once as a result of random testing and once as a result of follow-up testing. The individual's unescorted access was revoked; and, was referred to the Emr.:oyee Assistance Program for counseling and suspended without pay for fourteen (14) days, Upon recommendations received from the Employee Assistance Program counselor, the individual was seneduled to retum to work but tested por. ive for drugs on the retum-to-work follow-up te:t. GPU Nuclear management terminated the individual's employment.
There were three (3) Three Mile Island contractor employees who tested positive for alcohol as a result of for cause testing and five (5) Three Mile Island contractor employees who tested positive for drugs; four (4) as a result of pre-access testing and one (1) as a result of random testing. All eight (8) contractor employees were denied unescorted access to GPU Nuclear facilities. One (1)
Three Mile Island contractor employee was denied unescorted access to GPU Nuclear facilities due to violation of the 5 near rule requirement.
LIST OF EVENTS REPORTED 1.
There was one (1) reportable event during this reporting period in which a contrhetor supervisory employee tested positive for drugs as a result of random testing.
