Subject: Meeting Summary for Inspection Report No. 50-247/86-01
A Management Meeting was held on March 20, 1986, at the NRC Region I Office in
King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, at the licensee's request, to discuss Inspection
Report No. 50-247/86-01. The topic discussed at this meeting was the licensee's
assertion that a quality control program to assure compliance with 10 CFR 61.55
and 10 CFR 61.56 was in effect at the time of the inspection. The discussion is
described in the meeting summary enclosed with this letter.
Based on the information provided by your staff at the meeting, we conclude
that a quality control program was in effect, but that deficiencies in certain
quality control areas existed. Accordingly, we are withdrawing the proposed
violation cited in Appendiv A of Inspection Report No. 50-247/86-01. A revised
violation that accurately reflects our concerns is enclosed as Appendix A.
You
are required to respond to this findi.;g by following the instructions included
in Appendix A.
