SUBJECT:
OPERATOR TEST SCORES AT FERMI 2 Attached is a memorandum report on the Office of Inspector and Auditor's inquiry into allegations concerning operator test scores at Fermi 2.
On February 18, 1985, the Headquarters Duty Officer received anonymous T
allegations involving Fermi 2.
The allegations concerned test scores of reactor operators at the Fermi site and possible NRC involvement in shaving points on examinations to pass individuals who previously failed.
On February 26, 1985, Region III initiated an independent review of the allegations, and on March 25, 1985, forwarded the results of their review to 0IA. OIA reviewed the Region III report and on June 10, 1985, a list of 15 questions were addressed to Region III.
On June 28, 1985, Region III responded to the OIA questions. A review of the answers disclosed that there is no need for 0IA to further investigate these allegations.
CONCLUSION r
Based on the action taken by Region III concerning these allegations, no further action is required.
