ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RECEIPT OF RENEWAL REQUEST (TAC NOS. L31140 AND L31146)
Dear Dr. Schweitzer:
l We have received your application for renewal of Materials License SNM-142 transmitted by letter dated December 29,1998..The renewal references the 1992 and 1993 applications.
Since your application was received 30 days prior to the license expiration date of January 31, 1999, and pursuant to the provisions of Subsection 70.38(a) of Part 70 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, your license shall not expire until your application for renewal is finally determined by the Commission. During a teleconference on January 26,1999, between you and Mr. Sean Soong of my staff, you indicated that an updated certification for financial assurance for the SNM-142 license will be submitted by February 28,1999.
. We have reviewed your application dated December 2,1998, in which you requested a five-year extension of expiration date of the License SNM-142. Based on 10 CFR 70.38(a)(2) we
- concluded that your license is not elelgible for the one-time extension rule. Our conclusion was made known to you during a teleconference held in December 1998.
