DEGRADED GRID V0LTAGE PROTECTION FOR CLASS 1E POWER SYSTEMS (MULTI-PLANT ACTION ITEM B-23)

Re: Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station The NRC staff has completed its review of the subject iteu at Vermont Yankee.

The criteria and staff position pertaining to degraded grid voltage were transmitted to you by NRC Generic Letter dated June 3, 1977. In response to this letter you proposed certain design modifications, implementation of operator procedures, and changes to the Technical Specifications. The staff has reviewed your design modifications, draft operator procedures and draft Technical Specifications and has found them to be acceptable. Based on our related Safety Evaluation, which includes the supporting technical report prepared by our contractor, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, we consider Multi-Plant Action Item B-23 resolved for your facility.

Our evaluation of final operator procedures and Technical Specifications which you have proposed will be processed in a separate action.
