Subject: Inspection No. 50-354/86-09
An inspection to review the open areas found during the August 12-16, 1985
Emergency Preparedness Implementation Appraisal was conducted by Mr. D. Vito
and other members of an NRC Inspection team on February 3-6, 1986 at the Hope
Creek Generating Station. Discussions of our findings were held by Mr. Vito
with Mr. D. McCloskey and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection. A meeting was also held on February 19, 1986 to discuss the
schedule for implementation of the emergency preparedness training program.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
~
appraisal team reviewed selected procedures and representative records,
inspected emergency facilities and equipment, observed work practices, and
interviewed personnel.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed. With the
exception of the completion of the training program, the licensee's Emergency
Preparedness program is adequate to protect public health and safety in an
emergency situation.

is appreciated.
